hamster iA white fluffy hamster had a lucky escape – after being taken into a Cardiff property by a cat!

RSPCA Cymru was alerted after the cat’s owner saw their pet bring the hamster into their home yesterday morning (24 January), on Bishop Street in Grangetown.

Fortunately, the hamster was uninjured – and has now come into the care of the RSPCA.

The owner of the hamster is unknown – and RSPCA staff now hope to reunite the animal with their owner. It is likely the hamster escaped from a nearby property in Grangetown.

Anyone claiming ownership of the hamster would need to provide proof that the escaped hammy belongs to them.

RSPCA inspector Gemma Black said: “It must have been a huge shock for the cat’s owner to see their pet bring a hamster into the house!

“Thankfully, the poor thing was unhurt by the ordeal, and is now safely in RSPCA care.

“We’d love to find the owner of this white fluffy hamster, with a grey face.

“It seems very possible this hamster escaped from a nearby property in the Grangetown area and was then caught by the cat. Anyone with any information, or any possible owner, is urged to contact our inspectorate appeal line on 0300 123 8018.”
