RSPCA are investigating the incident after trapped wild birds were found dead and dying at West Sussex Nature Reserve

The RSPCA is appealing for information after glue traps were found on bird feeders and vegetation near to a bird hide at the Warnham Local Nature Reserve in Horsham.

The animal welfare charity was alerted by rangers from Horsham District Council who found the stricken entangled birds stuck to feeders and on the ground nearby yesterday. (Thursday September 13.)

RSPCA Cymru is appealing for information after a dog was abandoned on an escape stairwell outside a block of flats in Rhyl.

The dog, a female bull mastiff type dog, was found at the flats on Edward Henry Street with a member of the public calling the RSPCA on Thursday 6 September.

A decapitated chicken has been found in Pontypool, leading to an RSPCA Cymru information appeal.

The dead hen was found on Sunday, 9 September up a hill off Tranch Road, Tranch, Pontypool.

An escaped rainbow-coloured chameleon found in a garden in Rhyl has been safely returned home by the RSPCA.

The stray panther chameleon attracted plenty of interest after being found on 19 August, settled on a camellia plant in the garden of a Weaver Avenue property in the North Wales town.

Powys Council staff welcomed an unusual visitor to their offices at Welshpool Youth Centre on Tuesday (11 September) – with a polecat soon rescued and released by RSPCA staff!

The animal welfare charity was contacted after the shock discovery was made at the Centre, on Howell Drive.

Fortunately, the polecat was in good health – and was safely confined within a room at the council building, before being rescued by an RSPCA officer.
