An RSPCA appeal for information has been launched after a cat was found abandoned in a taped-up box on the Parc Nantgarw industrial estate.
RSPCA Cymru was alerted after a member of the public found the male black and white cat in the box beside their car – on Heol Y Gamlas – overnight between Monday (14 May) and Tuesday (15 May).
The member of the public was working the night shift, suggesting an attempt may have been made to abandon in darkness.
Anyone with information about how the cat came to be dumped, or anyone knowing the owner of the cat, is urged to contact the charity’s inspectorate appeal line.
The cat – who is now in the care of the RSPCA – is not microchipped, and has not been neutered.
Selina Griffiths, RSPCA inspector, said: “This poor black and white male cat was found in a taped-up box on the Parc Nantgarw industrial estate in the dead of night.
“The cat is not microchipped, or neutered – and remains in our care, after being found on Heol Y Gamlas overnight between Monday (14 May) and Tuesday (15 May).
“We’re eager to find out the circumstances behind this abandonment – or to try and make contact with the owner of the cat.
“Our inspectorate appeal line can be reached on 0300 123 8018, with all calls treated in confidence.”
