An urgent search for information has been launched by the RSPCA, following the emergence of a “shocking, disturbing and distressing video” appearing to show a man biting the head off a live pigeon.
Footage shared with the animal welfare charity appears to show a man gaining access to the bird by hitting at its nesting place with a stick.

RSPCA Cymru is appealing for information after a duck was found with a horrific beak injury.
The duck was spotted by a concerned member of the public in the river near Brook Street in Ystrad, Pentre, who alerted the RSPCA.
RSPCA inspector Izzi Hignell, who rescued the duck from the water, said: “The duck had a horrific injury to his beak, which must have been causing a considerable amount of pain and would have restricted eating and drinking.

RSPCA Cymru is warning of the dangers fishing litter can pose to wildlife after a fishing hook became caught on a gull’s beak.
The herring gull was spotted on Llandudno beach on Monday (29 May) with a fishing hook stuck on his bill.

RSPCA Cymru is appealing for information after an unwell hamster was found in woodland in Duffryn.
The Syrian hamster was found in his cage on Friday (25 May) behind Mallard Way, Duffryn in Newport.
