Dog owners and their canine companions have been invited to register for the waggiest and woofiest walkies of the year, as registration opens for June’s hotly-anticipated RSPCA Cymru ‘BIG Walkies LIVE’ in Cardiff.
Entries for the 2018 BIG Walkies LIVE event open today – giving dogs and their owners a unique opportunity to take part in a scenic 2.5-mile (4km) or 1.25mile (2km) walk in Bute Park on Sunday 10 June, alongside hundreds of poochie pals.
Signing-up is easy and can be done via the RSPCA website, with entry a bargain £5 for over-16s and free for under-16s. There’s a host of bonus goodies for participants. Ticket-holders get their hands on a supporter pack and wristband, t-shirt, bandana for dogs, a dog cuddly toy for children, stickers and even a poo bag!
Guests can also enjoy the BIG Walkies LIVE event village in Sophia Gardens – including food and drink stands, and a host of stalls; helping to make the event a “pawsome day-out”.
RSPCA Cymru Events and Business Manager, Bethan Shoemark-Spear, said: “We’re so excited to launch registrations for BIG Walkies LIVE in Cardiff on 10 June. It promises to be an amazing event, where dog owners and their canine companions can celebrate mutts of all shapes and sizes.
“Dogs and their owners will have the chance to take a stunning 2.5mile (4km) or 1.25mile (2km) walk around beautiful Bute Park – with plenty of opportunities for dogs to sniff out fun, on an adventure that offers so much more than the everyday walkies; and all in the name of animal welfare.
“Places for this event are limited – so we’d urge those wanting a place at the waggiest and woofiest walkies of the year to sign up as soon as they can. Entry for over-16s is just a fiver – and includes so many goodies, from t-shirts, to a dog bandana, a children’s toy and more.
“Dog walking has so many benefits for canine and human health – and we can’t wait for hundreds of owners and dogs from across the capital city and beyond to take part, and enjoy the BIG Walkies LIVE event village, for what is sure to be a pawsome day-out!”
