The RSPCA is urging people to carefully consider the needs of a pet before taking one on – after three hamsters were dumped on a Birmingham street in a shoebox which had “free hamsters” written on it.

The hamsters were left on a footbridge over a ford in the Sarehole Mill area. There were three hamsters in the box – but the lid was open, so there may have been more who escaped.

RSPCA Cymru is appealing for information after a terrapin was found at a Cwmbran allotment.

A concerned member of the public contacted RSPCA Cymru after finding the terrapin at the Coed Eva allotment by Coed Lee in Cwmbran on Saturday (6 January) suspecting the animal had been abandoned.

A mission to clean up the harmful marine litter from beaches on the west coast of Anglesey is due to take place at the end of the month.
RSPCA Cymru is teaming up with North Wales Wildlife Trust for a large scale community beach clean – named the ‘New Year Plast Off’ – that aims to remove and recycle as much plastic marine litter as possible from the beaches and coves around Cable Bay and Rhosneigr.

The tortie kitten, believed to be around 10 weeks old, was found in an alley off Vivian Road in a cat carrier, yesterday morning [8 January].

The RSPCA is appealing for information after a dog with a broken leg was abandoned in a park in Northwich.

The lurcher-type dog, named Bow, was found tied to a tree in Neumann’s Flash country park, in Old Warrington Lane, on Thursday 28 December.

She had a broken back leg and bruising to her abdomen, as well as scars on her face and other smaller, older wounds on her body.
