An American Bulldog who came into the RSPCA’s care in a “horrendous, emaciated” condition is still searching for a second chance of happiness in a new forever home.

Kia – who is a largely white dog – was one of two malnourished American bulldogs spotted by members of the public at a South Wales property earlier this year. Her body was skeletal-like, with bones across her body protruding against her skin.

A dog has been found shot in the head twice in a field in Old Eldon, Shildon, County Durham.

 

The female Dogue de Bordeaux had recently had puppies and was extremely emaciated.

 

X-rays show she suffered a fractured skull and veterinary opinion is that she would have suffered for some time before she died.

Merthyr is set to become the only area in Wales where a council-ban on the release of sky lanterns is not in force.

RSPCA Cymru has long campaigned for a ban on the release of sky lanterns, which can have deadly consequences for pets, farm animals and wildlife.
