The RSPCA is investigating after a tumour-ridden dog was tied up and left for dead under a bush.

A member of the public found the distressed dog, thought to be a collie cross, tied up in an alleyway next to Available Car, in Station Road, Castle Donington, Leicestershire, on Saturday morning (16 December).

He was immediately taken to a vet, where he was put to sleep on welfare grounds as he was so poorly.

A deceased snake was spotted by a member of the public in the Ely area of Cardiff, with the carcass being thrown and kicked around by a group of boys.

The snake – a boa constrictor – was seen near the Archer Road area, in the western part of the city on Friday (15 December).

A cardboard box containing two kittens has been found abandoned by a car at Newport’s Spytty Retail Park.

The discovery has prompted an RSPCA Cymru appeal for information to the local community.

Two elderly Staffordshire bull terriers are crossing their paws for a new home this Christmas – after being in the RSPCA’s care for more than A YEAR.

Kaya, who is aged 13, and Kane, who is 10, arrived at the animal charity’s Wirral branch in October 2016 after Kaya was beaten by her owner in a Wirral street. As a result, both dogs were taken in by the RSPCA while investigations and a prosecution took place.
