A dog has been saved by RSPCA Cymru, after she got her tail trapped by barbed wire in Wrexham.

The charity was alerted after the dog’s plight was spotted by a 17-year-old girl, Molly Garrigan.

She was rescued by RSPCA on 1 August, less than 45 minutes after the charity first received the call.

The RSPCA is appealing for information after a fox died after being shot with a plastic arrow in Stoke-on-Trent.

The animal welfare charity was contacted on Sunday after a member of the public spotted the animal with the arrow sticking out of his back left leg in Spout Lane. Sadly, when an RSPCA inspector found him he had died from his injuries.

RSPCA Cymru has launched an urgent appeal for information after five doves were found dumped in a cardboard box, on a South Wales cycle track.

The charity rescued the birds – which were found in a poor state – on a stretch of track between Usk and Newport’s Celtic Manor hotel.

A terrapin was found – having been “chucked away like litter” in Newport – prompting an urgent search for information.

RSPCA Cymru attended after a passer-by found the animal in a cardboard box on a pathway, off Barrack Hill, on Saturday (5 August).

The terrapin – who remains in RSPCA care – was given a veterinary examination, and is thought to be struggling with Vitamin A deficiency.

The RSPCA is appealing for information after a neglected dog with a large, untreated tumour was found in a Chester street.

The terrier-type dog was found confused and wandering in a circle in Greenfield Gardens, in Elton, on Sunday, 30 July.

He was taken to a vet where he was examined. Sadly, he was so poorly that the vet put him to sleep on humane grounds.
