The RSPCA is appealing for information after a dog was thrown out of a car in Willenhall, in the West Midlands, in the early hours of New Year’s Day.
Two people walking home from New Year’s Eve celebrations witnessed the female brown Staffordshire bull terrier being thrown from the window of a dark-coloured Ford Focus in High Road at about 2am.
The car was travelling at approximately 40mph and the people who saw the incident were unable to get the registration number.
RSPCA inspector Rob Crutchley, who is investigating, said: “The dog had an injury to her leg as a result of the incident, which was immediately treated.
“It was very shocking for the two people who found her. The dog was terrified after her ordeal.
“She is not microchipped so we have no way of tracing where she came from. We’d also like to rule out whether she was stolen. We are keen to speak to anyone who has any information to get in touch with us in complete confidence on 0300 123 8018.”
The dog is currently in the care of the local dog wardens.
