The RSPCA is appealing for information after the body of a fox covered in oil was found wrapped in a jumper on a Luton street.
A member of the public found the body in Oakley Road, Luton, on Monday 11 July and immediately called the RSPCA.
RSPCA inspector Lauren Bailey, who is investigating, said: “This is a very strange incident and we are keen to find out what happened to the fox, as he had been deliberately wrapped in a grey jumper and was covered in oil, so somebody must know why the fox had been left dumped as he had.
“There was no blood, open wounds or marks on the fox’s body, so it is hard to say how he died. Due to the strange circumstances in which he was found, we do think it is important to find out how he ended up in this way and whether deliberate animal cruelty is involved.”
Anyone who has any information should contact the RSPCA in complete confidence on 0300 123 8018.
