An amazing £500 donation has been presented to RSPCA Gwent Branch.
The branch were awarded with a cheque on Friday (15 July) by The Yorkshire Building Society in Monmouth for their Charity Choices Presentation Day which is supported by Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation.
It follows customers being asked to vote for one of three local charities – RSPCA Gwent Branch being one of them.
The three charities also attended an event outside the Shire Hall in Monmouth on 13 May.
On the day RSPCA Gwent Branch chair David Liles and deputy manager of RSPCA Newport Animal Centre, Kathryn Logan, attended and provided information on the RSPCA as well as asking members of the public if they would vote for the RSPCA Branch.
The winners of the vote would win £500, with second being £300 and third a £200 donation.
Gwent Branch chair David Liles said: “It was very good to meet people in Monmouth and have the opportunity to talk about the work of the RSPCA in Gwent.
“I would like to thank those people who voted for the Gwent Branch and we are delighted to have received the most votes. We’ve very grateful for the generous cheque from the Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation which will be spent on animal welfare in the Gwent area.”
