The RSPCA is appealing for information after three kittens and their mum were dumped in a bin bag in the middle of a Cheshire road.

The family was found by a member of the public at 11pm on Thursday (28 January) on the A559 Manchester Road, in Lostock Gralam, Northwich.

He is only two years-old – but poor Ralph has had five different homes already.

A buzzard has been rescued after becoming entangled on a barbed wire fence.

RSPCA animal collection officer (ACO) Fiona Thomas and animal welfare officer (AWO) Sian Burton were called to Tresilian Wood, St Donats, Llantwit Major after the trapped bird was spotted.

AWO Burton said: “This poor bird was injured quite badly and had lost an eye.

“He must have been in a lot of pain. It was such a strange way to become entangled on a fence.”
