The RSPCA is hoping to give an elderly cat rescued from a dual-carriageway slip-road a happy new year by reuniting her with her owner.

The female tabby – believed to be aged around 15 – was rescued on the slip-road of the A500, of Reginald Mitchell Way, Stoke-on-Trent, at 2am this morning (31 Dec).

The RSPCA is appealing for information after a group of teenagers were seen attacking a puppy in Birmingham on Wednesday evening (30 December).

A member of the public heard the puppy – a Staffordshire Bull Terrier aged around five months old – yelping after being forcefully kicked by the group, who were also seen dragging him on a lead.

RSPCA Cymru is appealing for information after an emaciated and poorly dog was dumped in Newport.

The dog was found in a collapsed, weak state on Wednesday, 23 December and had been tied to a bin with a heavy chain at Hartridge Farm Road.

The male springer spaniel – approximately four-years-old – was rushed to a vets.

RSPCA Cymru is appealing for information after a cat was poisoned and shot in the chest by an air rifle.

Tabby cat Theo was found collapsed and dazed at Strand Crescent, Holywell on 23 December. He had been shot in the chest.

He was rushed to the vets, where sadly he had to be put to sleep on veterinary advice. The vets found that he had also ingested a large quantity of rat poison.

The RSPCA is appealing for information about an injured dog which was found in Chester on Christmas Eve.

The Staffordshire Bull Terrier, thought to be aged around four, was found by a member of the public hobbling down Treborth Road, in Blacon with a swollen leg.

She is now being cared for at the RSPCA’s Greater Manchester Animal Hospital, where she has been named Holly.
