RSPCA Cymru is appealing for information after a cat was dumped in a bush in Newport.

The ginger male cat was found inside a taped up  litter box outside the Pet’s At Home car park at Mendalgief Retail Park, Docks Way on Monday [31 August].

Cat abandoned Newport Aug15RSPCA deputy chief inspector (DCI) Emma Smith said: “This poor cat was taped inside this box for an unknown period of time. He must have been very frightened and who knows what would have happened to him had he not been found as he could not have escaped from the box by himself.

“He doesn’t have a microchip or collar so we can’t identify his owner – but it appears he has been abandoned.”

The cat has been taken to a veterinary surgery for examination. cat abandoned box Newport Aug15
