Anne, a rescue staffie from the RSPCA’s Bristol Dogs and Cats Home, has just two wishes this summer – to find her perfect forever home and to meet the entire herd of Shauns scattered across Bristol’s famous Shaun in the City trail.

Like many other people this summer, Anne is keen to tick off all of the 70 spectacular Shauns dotted around the city. She has already had her picture taken with many of the sheep, and plans to visit the others over the coming weeks.

However what Anne is really looking for on the way is something even more special.

Jodie Hayward, Bristol Dogs and Cats Home Manager, said: “Anne is a sweet, young staffie who loves long walks so this trail is perfect for her. She also absolutely adores her Shauns and has already posed next to most of the ones dotted about the city. She will have the full photo collection soon.

“But as much as she loves beautifully painted sheep and is having the time of her life, what she is really searching for in all this is a lovely human she can call her own.”

Three-year-old Anne is no stranger to an adventure and has already managed to weave her way around half of the 70 Shauns in the city. Now a seasoned traveller, she has braved all modes of transport in her eagerness to see each Shaun and has embarked on her travels by boat, train, bus, van and paw.

Jodie added: “She sadly did not always have such a jet-setting lifestyle. This poor girl was found abandoned, unwanted and straying in Blaise Castle in Bristol before being picked up and brought into us where she was never claimed. She has had a rough start in life but is looking for a brighter future with a special new owner and we hope that she may even find a friendly new human on her adventures.

“She has been with us for about eight months now and we are truly baffled as to why – she’s a little shining star who now deserves a loving new home and a warm sofa to curl up on.”

At the weekend Anne visited a Shaun penned up at the Bristol Museum after a special invite from the shepherd and the adventure starts again this week as she works her way around the rest of the Shauns.
