RSPCA Cymru is urging the public to come forward with information after a cat was fatally shot with a pellet gun in the Rumney area of Cardiff.
The shooting occurred on Tuesday 23 June, between 7pm and 8pm.
Attempts were made to remove the pellet through surgery, but the pedigree male cat – named Mishu – sadly died after going into cardiac arrest.
Inspector Kate Parker said: “We urgently wish to track down whoever was responsible for this shocking incident, which has sadly taken the life of Mishu.
“Anyone who may witnessed a cat shooting in the Rumney area of the city should contact the RSPCA’s Inspectorate information line on 0300 123 8018. Calls are treated in confidence.”
Causing unnecessary suffering to an animal carries a maximum six-month prison sentence and/or a £20,000 fine.
