THE RSPCA is appealing for information after three rabbits were found apparently dumped at the side of a Newport road.
A member of the public contacted the RSPCA after the rabbits were found in fields near Penylan Cottages, Bassaleg, Newport, on Wednesday evening [6 May].
The three domestic rabbits were collected by RSPCA inspector Simon Evans who took them to a veterinary surgery for a check up.
Inspector Evans said it appears that the rabbits were just dumped in the field.
“All of the rabbits found are female,” he said. “It appears that they weren’t at the location long and have good body conditions. Although the black and white rabbit has ear mites which she is now receiving treatment for.
“We are now appealing for information on this incident.”
If anyone has any information about these rabbits please ring our inspectorate line on 0300 123 8018. Calls are treated in confidence.
