A YOUNG otter found in a back garden has been taken into RSPCA care.

The male otter was found by a member of public this morning in their garden at Maes Y Glyn, Lower Brynamman, Ammanford.

THE eight puppies who were abandoned in a Deeside litter bin are turning into little explorers.

The puppies – three male and five female – were found in a black rubbish bin by children on 6 March on Chester Road East, Queensferry, Deeside just before 4pm. The pups were so young some of them had their umbilical cords still attached.

Deputy Minister for Farming and Food, Rebecca Evans has asked RSPCA Cymru to undertake an independent review of responsible dog ownership in Wales.

The announcement follows on from a statement the Deputy Minister made last month launching a consultation on proposals to introduce compulsory microchipping in Wales from next Spring.

The review, which is expected to report in early autumn, will also involve the Dogs Trust in Wales and other interested parties such as, Local Authorities, schools and vets.

RSPCA appeals for information

A Yorkshire terrier stolen from his home took his rescue into his own paws last week, when he flagged down an RSPCA van along a deserted road more than 100 miles from home.

One of the charity’s inspectors, Stephanie Law, was driving down Hawkswood Lane in Gerrards Cross when she saw the little dog run out from some woods in front of her, barking to her to stop.

THE RSPCA is appealing for information after a cat was allegedly seen swung by his legs and stamped on.

The RSPCA was contacted by a concerned member of the public after a family member heard a cat screaming and saw a man swinging a cat by his legs and stamping on him at the common off Walden Grange Close, Newport on 29 March. The man was apparently with two teenagers.
