CAN you give a rabbit a loving home?

RSPCA’s Bryn-y-Maen Animal Centre in Upper Colwyn Bay and Newport Animal Centre are both appealing for homes for several rabbits in their care.

Deputy manager at Newport, Rebecca Jeffery said they have a long stay rabbit named Douglas that they are desperate to rehome.

Douglas NAC“Douglas has been at the centre for the past three months, so we would love for him to find a forever home,” she said. “He is very friendly and would love a home where he can have lots of attention.

“We also have two baby rabbits – Gethin and Cariad. They are both really lovely and enjoy being handled.” Cariad NAC

Bryn-y-Maen Animal Centre supervisor Chris Butler said they currently have 26 rabbits looking for homes.

“Many of our rabbits have been here since August, so we would love to see them all go to loving homes as soon as possible,” he said.

Just as the RSPCA urges families to think very carefully about taking on a pet for Christmas, we also urge anyone thinking of adopting a rabbit over the Easter period to think long and hard about the commitment involved and not just react to a whim. They would be required to meet our requirements prior to the adoption in any case.
