Cat rescue Llanfyllin 1THE RSPCA has assisted in the rescue of a cat stuck up a tree in Powys.

The white and brown male cat had became stuck up a tree the height of a two storey house at Llanfyllin.

RSPCA inspector Phil Lewis attended on Friday [19 March] along with a Mid and West Fire and Rescue Service crew from Llanfyllin who used a 13.5 metre ladder to reach the cat.

“The cat must have been up 30 to 40 feet in the tree,” he said.

“We don’t know how long he had been up there, but probably a maximum of two days.

“The cat was very frightened and was dehydrated but otherwise fine.Cat rescue Llanfyllin 2

“Once safe on the ground, the cat was successfully returned to his owner.”
