RSPCA’s Bryn-y-Maen Animal Centre in Upper Colwyn Bay is appealing for a suitable home for four goldfish.

The goldfish were left in a tank and abandoned in a house in November.

GoldfishBYMKennel and cattery supervisor Chris Butler said: “They are currently small but could grow up to 40cm if provided with the appropriate care.

“It is a myth that they grow to the size of their tank and if kept in these conditions it can cause stunted growth, medical conditions – and as a result – a reduced lifespan. Goldfish could live for 20 years in the correct conditions.

“We originally had nine goldfish and two toads. Five fish and the two toads have been rehomed. So we would love to see these four goldfish find a new home as well.”

Bryn-Y-Maen also has many dogs, cats and rabbits that are looking for a forever home. To view them visit http://www.rspca.org.uk/local/-/rspca/bryn-y-maen-animal-centre
