RSPCA’s Bryn-y-Maen Animal Centre in Upper Colwyn Bay is appealing for a suitable home for four goldfish.

The goldfish were left in a tank and abandoned in a house in November.

A LONELY micro-pig is settling into his new home in the Gower.

It was on 12 January that a male micro-pig was found in Ystalyfera in a garden on Wern Road.

RSPCA inspector Gemma Cooper said she feared that he may have been one of the first victims of an unwanted Christmas present.

THE RSPCA has released a badger back into the wild.

A member of the public found the wild animal collapsed on Catbrook Road, Catbrook, Chepstow, on 8 January and contacted the RSPCA.

The badger was still conscious and kept trying to stand up, but kept falling over.

RSPCA animal collection officers (ACO) Fiona Jackson and Stephanie Davidson attended and took the sow (female badger) to a veterinary surgery for tests.

THE RSPCA is appealing for information after a chicken was found covered in white emulsion paint.

The chicken – which also had tinsel wrapped around its beak – was found by a member of the public on Oakland Terrace, Rhymney, Tredegar on 19 January.

THE RSPCA has assisted in the rescue of a stray cat that became stuck up a 50 foot tree.

The female cat, which is a stray, is looked after by staff at Ty Newydd Country Hotel which is located on Penderyn Road, Hirwaun, Aberdare.
