It may be a lot nicer than living underground in District 13, but this Katniss lookalike would love a new home in time for Christmas.

Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss / Katniss the cat © RSPCATo mark the release of the latest Hunger Games film, Mockingjay part 1 this week, our Bluebell Ridge cattery in Hastings have released a photo of their very own Katniss in the hope that someone will volunteer to give home to this beautiful survivor.

Katniss is a black-and-white semi-long haired female of around five-years-old, and has been with the branch for almost a year.

Like her namesake she is extremely lively and energetic and is quite independent – and just like the protagonist of the Hunger Games, she also likes to have a fuss on her own terms.

She longs for a home with a garden

Myra Grove, from the branch, said:

“She is a beauty who is extremely lively and energetic. She has lots of energy to burn and longs for a home with a garden where she can stretch her legs, thoroughly explore her surroundings and once again enjoy life to its full potential!

“She can be quite independent and likes to have a fuss on her terms, so she would be best suited to an older family environment without other pets. We would love for her to land on her feet just in time for Christmas.”

As the branch is so keen to help Katniss finally find a home to call her own, they have halved her adoption fee to £35 which includes a free booster vaccine.
