On the 3 November, we were called to rescue a tiny five week old kitten who was found in an oil container on an industrial estate in Watford.
He was incredibly scrawny and covered in thick black oil. He was nothing but a pair of huge pitiful eyes, so he has since been named Gollum after the character from the Lord of the Rings.
Gollum was rushed straight to the vets, where after a careful wash it was quite a surprise to see his true ginger colouring underneath. The poor little mite was exhausted, and after some food he fell fast asleep.
Animal Welfare Officer Tracy Deamer said:
“It was such a traumatic day for little Gollum. Unsurprisingly he was completely wiped out.”
Thanks to our Middlesex North West branch, Gollum will get the very best love and care, a soft bed and a tasty meal tonight. Vets are hopeful he hasn’t swallowed too much oil and will be well enough for adopting soon.
Why not see the other animals in our care that are available for rehoming now on our pet search page.
