One of our supporters has raised a whopping £670 for animals by holding her own coffee morning and raffle event.
Margaret Lawlor from Harborne, Birmingham raised the much-needed funds for our Birmingham Animal Centre with a coffee morning and extravagant raffle on September 6.
“I have been a volunteer dog walker at the RSPCA for over five years now. I get so much from taking the dogs out. It lifts my spirits and makes such a difference to their day at the centre.”
She sold raffle tickets through her salon Beauty Works in Bearwood with help from her business partner Tracey Tutty. Entrants could win prizes generously donated by supportive customers and vouchers for beauty treatments at the salon.
“Animals are very close to my heart and after helping my friend hold coffee mornings over the years for another charity; I decided it was about time I held one!
“We decided to start selling raffle tickets well in advance of the coffee morning. Everybody was so kind, donating prizes, money, time, and cakes! I was overwhelmed by the total amount we all managed to raise.”
Not content with the great success of her raffle ticket sales Margaret also ran a coffee morning with face painting at St Mary’s Church in Harborne.
“We sold over £350 worth of raffle tickets which is fantastic! Our clients have been very generous with purchasing tickets and donations of raffle prizes.”
Margaret’s fundraising was highly successful and she raised a total of £670 from the coffee morning and raffle.
