RSPCA Cymru is appealing for information about a tiny kitten who was found tied to a gatepost in the Penywaun area of Aberdare in the early hours of Saturday morning (26 April).

The black and white kitten, who is around six-weeks-old, was discovered tied to the front gate of a house in Brodawel with a blue rope. The local resident called the RSPCA after local enquiries drew a blank.

The kitten has four white socks and white belly.

Inspector Gemma Cooper said: “Although the kitten was physically OK and wasn’t injured, she would have been extremely scared. Anything could have happened and she was lucky to be found by a kind person who took care of her until we could collect her.

“Abandoning an animal like this is totally unacceptable and if anyone has information about where the kitten came from I would urge them to contact us in confidence on the inspector’s information line on 0300 123 8018”
