RSPCA Cymru is looking for the owner of a dog found on a ledge 15 feet above the River Neath in Glynneath yesterday afternoon.

The dog, an unneutered, male tri-coloured papillon cross was trapped on the ledge beneath a bridge on Chain Road, after he apparently managed to get over a wall and fall six feet onto the ledge below.

He was wearing a pink collar with silver bones on it and there was a green ribbon attached to the collar.

Happily the dog was safely rescued and is currently in the care of the RSPCA although there is still no clue as to who owns him and how he got to be in such a precarious position.

Inspector Chris Coleman said: “This poor dog was very lucky to be spotted as he was in a very dangerous predicament.

“He had a very distinctive collar on with a ribbon attached to it so someone we are appealing for anyone who knows where the dog came from to get in touch.”
