RSPCA Cymru is appealing for information after an elderly Yorkshire terrier dog was found collapsed and in an appalling condition in Merthyr Vale on Sunday (16 March 2014).
The elderly, female dog was found by a member of the public on land at the bottom of Sarah Street and Victoria Street. She was unable to move and crying.
When RSPCA Inspector Chris Coleman arrived she discovered that the dog was blind and emaciated and rushed her to a local vet. Sadly the vet advised that nothing could be done to save the dog and she was put to sleep to end her suffering.
Inspector Coleman said: ”This poor dog was in a terrible state and barely alive when I arrived. We are very keen to hear from anyone who knows this dog or has information about who was responsible for her”.
Anyone with information can call the RSPCA inspector’s information line on 0300 123 8018 and leave a message for Inspector Coleman in confidence.
