Bird was found in garden in Rhondda Cynon Taf
Tuesday 21 January 2014
RSPCA Cymru is trying to trace the owner of a tame buzzard found in Pontyclun on Saturday (January 18th). The bird was found by a member of the public who managed to confine him in a garage in the Cross Inn area until the RSPCA could collect him.
The male bird had leather jesses and anklets on his legs and was uninjured apart from some damage to his beak which appears to have been caused by an old injury. The bird is ringed but currently there haven’t been any successful matches.
RSPCA inspector Selina Chan said: ”This bird is very tame and friendly but is also quite old, so somebody somewhere must be missing him.
“We would like to hear from anyone who has information about him or thinks they may know where he has come from as we would love to reunite him with his owner”.
Anyone who has information about this incident is asked to to contact the inspector’s information line on 0300 123 8018 where they can leave a message for Inspector Chan. All calls will be treated in confidence.
