Dedicated animal welfare supporter dies after many years of stalwart support for us and our South London Animal Hospital

We were saddened to learn of the death of Angela Cope OBE, aged 97, on October 28.

Angela was an RSPCA honorary vice-president – one of only four people to currently hold the position – recognising her continued commitment to animal welfare and to us – and in particular her work for the Putney RSPCA Animal Hospital in South London.

Angela was founder of The Friends of Putney RSPCA Animal Hospital – a voluntary group now supported by 400 loyal members, donating and raising money to go towards the work of the hospital. Angela was still closely involved with the work of the group right up until the time of her death and was rightly proud that, for over 20 years since foundation, The Friends of Putney RSPCA Animal Hospital has provided funds for a range of new and improved facilities and vital equipment.
