The second RSPCA and PRP Rescue Services Rescue Horse/Pony of the Year is set to be even bigger and better than last year’s competition when the event takes place at Equifest this Saturday, 17 August.

This year, Channel 5 News presenter, Emma Crosby, will be assisting the three judges in selecting the Champion and Reserve Rescue Horse/Pony of the Year at the Peterborough Showground Arena.

We are appealing for information on how a cat and her kittens came to be dumped in Gloucester.

A shivering mother cat and her two kittens were found abandoned on a bench in Berkeley Street, Gloucester this week.

The cats had been wrapped tightly in a pink paw print blanket and left on a bench in the town centre.

Luckily they were spotted by an eagle-eyed member of the public who took them home and called us.

The RSPCA is appealing for information after a cat was shot in Dunstable on 4 August.

 

Betty, a semi-longhaired black cat, returned to her home in Capron Road with a limp on Sunday.

 

Her owner wasn’t sure what had happened to five-year-old Betty so took her to Noah’s Ark vets in the town.

The RSPCA is appealing for information after five rabbits were found under a car in St Albans on Tuesday (6 August).

 

The mother rabbit and her four babies (known as kittens or kits) were found in a parking area near to Verulamium Park on Prae Close.

 

A passer by noticed the tan and black rabbits and managed to ask other people to help catch the rabbits before confining them in a dog crate and calling the RSPCA.

A relieved bird owner from the Wirral has thanked RSPCA Cymru after the animal welfare charity reunited him with his African Grey Parrot, Jake.

Geoffrey Kerwin was on holiday with his wife and pet parrot at their caravan in Pensarn, Abergele when the intrepid bird decided to fly through a door which had been left open by accident.
