RSPCA Cymru is making an urgent appeal to trace the owner of a dog found collapsed on Newport Road in Cardiff last night.

The elderly black and white female Staffordshire Bull terrier was found outside Blooms Garden centre at around 1845 by a passer by.

She had breathing difficulties, a swollen eye and a huge lump on her chest.

An RSPCA inspector took her to the vets where she was diagnosed with having a large tumour behind the eye which was affecting her sinuses and a lymphoma on her chest.

The dog was not microchipped and the owner needs to be traced urgently

Anyone with information is asked to call the RSPCA on 0300 1234 999.  All calls are treated in confidence.
