The dangers posed to wildlife in Swansea by discarded fishing line are shown in new RSPCA footage of a duck rescue.

The Muscovy duck was successfully rescued by RSPCA officers on Wednesday 3 July at the Fendrod Lake in Swansea’s Enterprise Park on Wednesday 3 July.

RSPCA inspector Neill Manley said: “After giving my colleagues and I the run around on both land and water, we were finally able to catch the duck and free her from fishing line and release her back onto the lake. Several other lengths of line were also cleared from places only accessible by boat. I would urge all anglers to clear up after yourselves when angling!”
