Anyone making a New Year resolution to raise money for charity or run a marathon is being urged to apply for the Brighton Marathon in support of the RSPCA.
The marathon takes place on Sunday 14 April 2013 and the run is 26.2 miles through picturesque Preston Park and the best of Brighton city centre, including the iconic Brighton Pavilion.
Heading east along the scenic coast road, runners have panoramic views of the English Channel and glorious glimpse of the South Downs.
RSPCA events manager Katie Sutcliffe said: “Without our generous and committed supporters we wouldn’t be able to do our vital animal welfare work, so we really appreciate the efforts of everyone who raises money for the RSPCA, especially those who take on challenges like running a marathon with all the extra training and fundraising that goes into it.
“If you’d be interested in supporting us in the Brighton Marathon you can either apply for an RSPCA place or join the RSPCA marathon team if you have your own place by registering your details. Thank you for your wonderful help!”
RSPCA marathon team members will receive a free fundraising pack, which includes an RSPCA running vest and t-shirt, a year’s subscription to the RSPCA magazine, a sponsorship form, running guide, and stickers, posters and collection boxes.
If you want to help the RSPCA you can give £3 now by texting the word ‘HELP’ to 78866. Texts cost £3 plus one standard network rate message.
